Make a toast at the wine fair!

50th Vino Ljubljana International Wine Fair, Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, Ljubljana (4–6 September 2014)

In the first days of September, Ljubljana will once again magically transform into a City of Vine and Wine. The Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre and its partners invite you to the revival of the once so popular Wine Fair. At stalls set up outside restaurants and pubs in the centre of Ljubljana –the Wine ambassadors of the Fair –you will be able to enjoy a glass of wine and a snack for the whole duration of the Fair. On Tuesday, 2 September, at 6 p.m., there will be a ceremonial barrel opening in front of the Slovenian Philharmonic at the Congress Square.

Over 200 exhibitors will take part in this years’ Wine Fair, predominantly wine-growers from Slovenia and abroad. Visitors will be offered wine tasting and other delicacies during the parallel event called the Festival of Tastes. There will also be fun in abundance with various entertaining activities taking place, such as Wine & Stars, concerts, folklore appearances. Festival Nostalgia, the parallel event, will create an atmosphere with the pulse of the 50s and 60s-era. The ticket price includes a glass for wine tasting and three wine tasting coupons. Since the Fair has a commercial character, visitors are invited to purchase wines. For those who purchase at least 6 bottles at the Fair, the organiser will cover the parking costs at the parking area behind the halls of the Ljubljana Exhibition and Congress Centre. The Slovenian retail chain group TUŠ, the partner of the Fair, will have in its supermarkets at designated places a special offer of wines awarded at the 56th Vino Ljubljana International Evaluation of Wines.
